"I Found a Reason” is a sweet song, elegantly composed and arranged, and was very finely sung by Phish at their 10/31/98 show. It was obvious that some fans at the show thought Mike’s spoken refrain halfway through the song was a Phishy invention, a leftover from 1996’s “Seen and Not Seen,” perhaps? But no, the absurdly earnest, tongue-in-cheek confession was one of the original track’s defining moments.
